What motion graphics video production covers
Motion graphics video production is the design and animation of graphics, type and characters to explain or promote an idea. For most UK brands that means:
- Script and message development
- Storyboards and style frames
- Bespoke design for your brand
- 2D animation and character animation, sound and voiceover
- Versions for social, websites, events and in-store screens
Strategy 1: Fix the message before designing anything
Good animation cannot rescue a confused script. Write down the one thing the viewer needs to understand, then cut anything that does not help them get there. Agreeing the script first also protects your budget, because a change to words is far cheaper than a change to finished animation.
Strategy 2: Show the product without relying on screen recordings
Software is hard to film and a screen recording rarely sells it. Our films for SAM's Agile Dashboard and SAM License Manager 12 put the interface in a designed space, picking out the features that matter and how they help. Abstract ideas can get the same treatment: NICE Archive X makes data something you can see moving.
Strategy 3: Mix animation with live action where it earns its place
Animation does not have to stand alone. Tracker's brand film sets its type and graphics over night-time aerial footage, and NICE Corrections lays data over real locations. Real footage makes technical subjects feel grounded, while graphics explain what a camera cannot show.
Strategy 4: Build a design system, not a one-off
Every visual should reflect your brand, audience and story. A bespoke style with reusable colours, type and motion rules can extend across a whole campaign. That is how a set of films for one client, such as our NICE and SAM work, can feel like they belong together, and how later films become easier to make.
Strategy 5: Design for the screen it will play on
Think about where the animation will live before you start. Swallow's launch animation is built to announce something, CreateVid.io is designed to be personalised for sales outreach, and Coca-Cola Freestyle, made with Tribe, was created for in-store drinks dispensers. Check the screen shape, whether viewers will have sound, and how long they will stay.
